Friday Fun in English!
Hello, English explorers! Today is Friday, August 28, 2026. Get ready to talk about cartoons, toys, tasty treats, books, music and school. Read aloud, learn new words and have fun. You can do it!

Cartoons Kids Are Watching in Chile
Popular choices on TV and streaming services in Chile include Bluey, Pokémon Horizons, Miraculous and SpongeBob SquarePants. Some children also enjoy the funny Chilean puppet show 31 Minutos.
Cartoons can help you learn English. Try changing the audio to English and using Spanish subtitles. Listen for short phrases such as “Let’s go!”, “Good idea!” and “I can help!”

Toys & Collectibles
Trading cards, building sets, soft plush toys, mini figures and board games are fun choices for many children in Chile. Pokémon cards are exciting because players can collect, sort and trade them. Colourful plush bag charms and mystery figures are popular collectibles too.
If you trade an item, ask an adult first and make sure the trade is fair.

Sweet Treats & Candies
Chile has many delicious treats. A cuchuflí is a crispy wafer tube, often filled with manjar. Super 8 has crunchy wafers covered with chocolate, and a Chocman is a soft cake snack. Children may also enjoy alfajores, Chokita bars or salty ramitas.
Sweet snacks are sometimes foods. Enjoy a small portion, drink water and remember to brush your teeth!

Books & Stories
Papelucho is a famous Chilean character who writes funny thoughts in his journal. Young readers may also enjoy Dog Man, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Los Futbolísimos and the Percy Jackson adventures.
Try reading one page in English every day. You do not need to understand every word. Look for clues in the pictures and sentences.

Music & Dance
Many children enjoy upbeat pop, K-pop-inspired songs, music from animated films and the playful songs of 31 Minutos. “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters is a fun song for practising rhythm and positive words.
Fiestas Patrias are coming soon, so this is also a great time to practise cueca. Put on family-friendly music, clap to the beat and create a simple dance with your friends.

Hobbies & After-School Fun
Football, basketball, volleyball, cycling and skateboarding are popular ways to move after school. Indoors, you can draw comics, make bracelets, build models, play chess or learn simple coding.
Use English while you play: “Pass the ball!”, “It’s your turn!”, “Let’s draw!” and “Great job!”
