Sunday English Fun!
Hello, English explorers! Today is Sunday, August 30, 2026. It is still winter in Chile, but spring is getting closer! Get comfortable and learn new words with cartoons, toys, treats, books, music, and games. Ready? Let’s go!

Cartoons Kids Are Watching in Chile
Many children in Chile enjoy funny and adventurous cartoons. Bluey tells playful family stories. Miraculous has superheroes and exciting mysteries. Pokémon is full of creatures, friendship, and adventures. Kids also enjoy the silly comedy in SpongeBob SquarePants and Teen Titans Go!
Try this sentence: “My favorite cartoon is funny and colorful.”

Toys & Collectibles
Building blocks, plush animals, dolls, toy cars, slime, and board games are fun choices. Some kids collect trading cards, mini figures, or colorful key rings. Collecting can teach you to organize, trade fairly, and care for your things.
English challenge: Count your toys in English. Can you count from one to twenty?

Sweet Treats & Candies
Chile has many delicious treats. A cuchuflí is a crispy rolled wafer, often filled with manjar. Alfajores have sweet filling between two cookies. Children may also know Super 8, Chocman, and fruity Frugelé candies.
Treats are tasty, but enjoy a small amount and remember to brush your teeth!
Try this sentence: “The alfajor is sweet and soft.”

Books & Stories
Books can take you anywhere! Papelucho is a classic Chilean character with funny ideas and everyday adventures. Readers may also enjoy Dog Man, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and the myth-filled adventures of Percy Jackson. Choose a book that feels comfortable for your reading level.
Reading tip: Read one short page in English. Circle new words, but first try to guess their meaning from the story.

Music & Dance
Kids in Chile enjoy many kinds of music, including K-pop, clean Latin pop, animated movie songs, and the funny music of 31 Minutos. Music is a great way to hear English pronunciation and rhythm.
Choose an age-appropriate song and listen for three English words. Then create a safe dance with a clap, a turn, and two steps!
Try this sentence: “We dance to a happy song.”

Hobbies & After-School Fun
Popular activities include football, basketball, skating, cycling, dancing, drawing, crafts, chess, and video games. Some children also enjoy hiking with their families or watching birds in a park. Wear the right safety equipment and ask an adult before exploring a new place.
Ask a friend: “What do you like doing after school?”
Answer: “I like drawing animals.”
