Welcome to Today’s English Adventure!
Hello, young learners! Today is September 20, and spring is almost here in Chile. Let’s explore fun cartoons, toys, treats, stories, music, and hobbies while we learn English. Are you ready? Let’s go!
Cartoons Kids Are Watching in Chile
Children in Chile enjoy funny and exciting animated shows. Bluey tells warm stories about family and imagination. Pokémon is full of friendship, adventure, and fantastic creatures. Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir has young heroes who protect their city. Many kids also enjoy the colorful challenges and humor of Teen Titans Go!
Try this sentence: “My favorite cartoon character is brave and funny.”

Toys & Collectibles
Building bricks are great for making houses, spaceships, and animals. Trading cards are fun to collect and organize. Small character figures, plush animals, puzzles, and board games are also exciting. Some children like collectible mini figures with surprise designs.
Remember: collecting is about having fun, not having everything. You can trade only with permission from a trusted adult.

Sweet Treats & Candies
Chile has many famous treats. Super 8 is a crispy wafer covered with chocolate. Chocman is a soft cake with sweet filling and chocolate coating. Cuchuflí is a crunchy tube that may contain manjar. Calugas are small, chewy sweets. You may also know alfajores, two soft cookies with a delicious filling.
Treats are tasty sometimes. Enjoy a small portion and remember to brush your teeth!

Books & Stories
Books can take you anywhere! Younger readers may enjoy Dog Man or Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Adventure fans can try Percy Jackson or Harry Potter. Chilean stories such as Papelucho are also fun to discover. Choose a book that matches your reading level and interests.
Reading challenge: Read one page in English and circle three words you recognize.

Music & Dance
Kids can enjoy clean, family-friendly pop songs, animated-movie soundtracks, K-pop, and Latin rhythms. Cueca is Chile’s national dance, and September is a great time to practise it. A dancer may wave a handkerchief while moving to the rhythm.
Put on an age-appropriate song and try this action game: clap, turn, step, and freeze!

Hobbies & After-School Fun
Football is a favorite sport for many children in Chile. Other fun activities include basketball, volleyball, cycling, skating, swimming, drawing, crochet, dancing, coding, and playing music. You can also explore nature with a trusted adult or make crafts from recycled materials.
Speak aloud: “After school, I like to draw.” What do you like to do?
